Chief Executive Officer, Jeffrey R. Gerlach founded Birchwood Strategy Group (BSG) in 2024 to provide strategic business solutions that empower independent urgent care operators to optimize their business performance. With over 25-years of business acumen in healthcare services, Mr. Gerlach has extensive experience in business development, mergers and acquisition, financial modeling, practice valuation, health system joint ventures, value creation, market analysis, site selection, project management, construction, sales, marketing and brand strategy. 

Prior to BSG, Mr. Gerlach was the chief development officer for Bond Orthodontic Partners (Bond), where he led all business development functions, practice transition processes, de novo development, marketing, and real estate portfolios. An innovative and growth-oriented leader, Mr. Gerlach successfully interfaced with multiple internal and external constituents including

private equity sponsors, board members, orthodontic partners, and internal functional area leaders.

Mr. Gerlach joined Bond after the successful recapitalization of NextCare Inc. where he spent nearly a decade as the chief growth officer and was responsible for all channels of urgent care platform growth including acquisitions, de novo development, construction management, real estate portfolio, sales and marketing, health system joint ventures, strategic initiatives, project management, and payor relations. 

Prior to NextCare Inc., Mr. Gerlach was the vice president of business development and acquisitions for Alliance Oncology, a division of Alliance Healthcare Services. Previously, he held numerous leadership positions with healthcare companies including US Oncology, Stryker Corporation, and Steris Corporation. 

An avid golfer and devoted father, Mr. Gerlach makes his home in Phoenix and is a graduate of the University of Arizona, where he earned his Bachelor degree in Economics and Marketing.
